Chief Scott Fournier is pleased to announce that Berkley Fire Rescue will be touring Santa Claus around town again this year to spread some holiday cheer.
WHEN:
Sunday, Dec. 11 beginning at 9 a.m.
WHERE:
The Santa Run will depart from Berkley Fire Rescue Station 1 and Station 2 before visiting every neighborhood in the Town of Berkley. To view the route from Station 1, click here. To view the route from Station 2, click here. Note these are approximate times based off of last year.
WHAT:
Santa Claus will be joining Berkley Firefighters this weekend to spread some holiday cheer around the Town of Berkley. During his visit, Santa will ride in a Berkley fire truck while waving and tossing candy out to residents.
Residents are asked to examine all candy for food allergies prior to their children eating it. Berkley Fire Rescue also asks residents to use extreme caution while Santa is traveling throughout the town.
On the day of the run, residents are asked to not call the Berkley Police or Fire Departments for the location of Santa as this may take dispatchers away from responding to emergencies. Instead, residents are encouraged to listen for Santa’s arrival and keep an eye out for his appearance throughout the day. Berkley Fire Rescue will alert families to Santa’s arrival with sirens and air horns.
Families are also encouraged to monitor Berkley Fire Rescue’s Facebook for location updates on the day of the run.
“For the past two years Berkley Fire/Rescue helped out Santa because of COVID,” Chief Fournier said. “Now it looks like it will be an annual occurrence after the overwhelming joy it brings.”
