The United States is composed of 70% volunteer or on call fire departments just like Berkley. If it wasn’t for those individuals, most of the United States would go without emergency services.
Berkley’s call volume continues to grow, doubling over the past 20 years. Since then, Berkley has had the same staffing levels driving up demand for more full time and on call personnel.
Berkley Fire & Rescue is an all hazards department. That means we respond and handle all types of emergencies. Berkley’s call volume mostly consists of ambulance related calls, which makes EMT’s and Paramedics highly desirable. We currently run 2 Ambulances, 3 Engines, 2 Tankers, 1 Ladder, 1 Forestry, 2 Boats, 1 UTV, and various support vehicles and trailers.
