BERKLEY – The Berkley Fire Department in conjunction with the Berkley Fire Association are pleased to announce they will be starting the Blue Address Sign Campaign. What is the Blue Address Sign Campaign you ask? Have you noticed while driving around town you see blue signs with address numbers on them? These signs are placed at the end of your driveway to help first responders identify your house in case of an emergency. (Also helps your delivery drivers with all your Amazon packages!) Seconds count and these signs decrease the response time to your residence. It is required by law to have your house number on the front of your house, but some houses cannot be seen from the road. Having these address signs at the end of the driveway fixes that problem.
If you would like to have one of these signs made for your home, please fill out the form attached and bring back a check for $20.00 made payable to the Berkley Fire Association and we will make your sign and call you once it is made. If you need help mounting the sign, we may be able to help you. Please reach out to Lt. Joseph Inacio or FF Liza Amaral.
We would also like to announce we have received a limited number of FREE signs to anyone over the age of 65 that lives in Berkley! If you are 65 or older, please fill out the order form and attach a copy of your license with your DOB and Berkley address. Please note this is first come first served and only one sign per residence. Again, if you need help mounting the sign either call the station and ask for Lt. Inacio or FF Amaral or message our Facebook page.
We are aware not everyone in town may have Facebook, so if you know someone in town who does not already have a blue sign in front of their house, please let them know and help them filling out the order form. We would like to have the town littered with these Blue Address signs as it is a matter of public safety.
